Chapter Nineteen: Anniversary:

Noiz awoke to a little doll in her face. “Hm?” she asked. The kitty glanced behind the mouse doll to see Mosh smiling at her.

“Good morning!” he cheered. His wife gave him an odd look.

“What is that for?” she asked.

“Happy anniversary!” Mosh whispered aloud. The message took a minute to reach Noiz’s brain.

“Oh! Is it…?” she began to ask.

“Yes,” Mosh said. Noiz’s cheeks colored red.

“What is it?” her husband asked.

“I feel so dumb for forgetting that,” she said.  Mosh patted her on the head.

“It’s okay,” he said. His hand moved down to her abdomen. “The baby’s taken up so much of our time.” He paused at the movement at his hand. “I felt it kick!” Mosh said. Noiz looked down at her husband.

“Two months, huh?” she asked.

“Yep,” he replied.

Husband and wife decided to take it easy this year. Mosh looked up at his wife on the couch.

“I don’t feel like doing much today,” he said. “Do you?” Noiz shook her head. He rested his head on her chest.

“Didn’t think so,” he said. The mouse rested his hand to her stomach. “You know what?” he asked. “We can just stay in all day and do nothing.” Noiz looked at him rather surprised.

“We can do that?” she asked. Mosh lifted his head at her with a child-like grin.

“Of course,” he said. “It’s our anniversary. We have the right to stay in and cuddle all day if we want.”

“But what about your classes?”

“Ah! It got canceled for the day. The professor had a doctor’s appointment out of town.”

“Is that right?”

“Yep!”

“But what about our meals?”

Mosh silenced her with a peck on the lips. “You already have me and we have leftovers in the fridge. Anything else?” Noiz lips curved into a smile as she shook her head. Mosh ran his fingers through her short permed black hair.

“Good,” he said.

“I love you,” Noiz whispered. He gave her another kiss on the lips.

“Love you too,” he said back. The kitty giggled before she felt another kick from the baby.

“Oh!” she said aloud.

“I think the baby likes this plan too,” the mouse boy said.

“I guess so,” his wife said. They pretty much did nothing for the rest of the day.
