Chapter
Twenty-Two: Family Home:
Bayu and Irani
had to have the best. They were a queen and prince now after all. She didn’t
seem to have any complaints. Their rooms would match their rooms back in Heaven.
I let Bayu choose everything.
“You can have
your room how you want it,” I told her. She smiled and closed the door.
“Bayu… -chan?” I
asked.
“You can’t see
until I’m finished!” she yelled. I opened my mouth.
“I mean it!” she
shouted. I put up my hands.
“Okay,” I said.
I waited outside of her room. Irani’s room was across from hers. Bayu and I
would have another room together. I got excited as I thought the decorating of
our house.
Twenty minutes
later, the door opened. I looked up to see Bayu smiling at me.
“Welcome to my
room,” she said. My lovely stepped aside. I got a look inside of her room and my
jaw dropped. It looked more like a garden inside with mine flowers and plants
around. The color pink covered the room. She had a one-person futon in the
middle of the room. Golden vines covered the ceiling. I whistled.
“You did this
yourself?” I asked.
“Yes,” she said.
I made a face as I looked around again.
“But how?” I
asked. Bayu smiled as she tapped the side of her nose.
“With my magic,”
she said. The color started to drain from my face.
“Yeah, you’ll
want to be careful when you do that here,” I said. My lovely tilted her head.
“What do you
mean?” she asked. I pressed my lips together as I shifted my eyes away.
“We’re in Hell,”
I explained. “You’re still an angel, both of you. If you aren’t careful, this
place could drain you and rip you to pieces. So… please be careful.” Bayu looked
at with sympathy in her eyes. She took my hands.
“I understand,”
my love said.
“Mama?” we heard
behind us. We looked up to see Irani staring at us.
“Yes, honey?”
Bayu asked.
“When are you
going to work on my room?” he asked. Bayu walked over and patted him on the
head.
“We can get to
work on that right now,” she said.
“Yay!” he
shouted, throwing up his hands in the air. I cleared my throat.
“May I join
you?” I asked. Irani lowered his little eyes and head. Oh, still not used to me
yet. I should be able to sway kids over to like me. I just can’t really read him
at all. Is it because he’s angel and I’m not? That’s when I noticed Bayu smiling
at me.
“Of course you
can,” she said. My mood turned around.
“Okay,” I said.
Irani turned and ran to his room. Bayu and I followed after him. That was how we
spent the afternoon. We didn’t stop at Irani’s room. The kitchen, dining room,
hot springs, library, art room, and a play room. Bayu and I worked on our
personal room together in private. Afterwards, the three of us took a seat in
the middle of the art room.
“How is it?” I
asked. “Is it to your liking?” Bayu cuddled up to my chest.. She had her eyes
closed with a smile on her face.
“Mmm,” my lovely murmured. “I love it.” I smiled as I put my arm around her. Irani slept in her lap. I could feel myself slowly closing my eyes and dozing off. Could every day be like this?
