Chapter Two: Maiden:
Where do I begin
about her? As I said before, she’s been in my life for as long as I can
remember. I don’t exactly know when or where we first met. I just remember that
she was there. She’s had many names and faces over the years. No matter where I
go, she manages to find me somehow. To this day, I haven’t figured out how she
does it. I have to admit, I didn’t know how to take this. I mean, what do you do
in a situation like that?
She has the spirit
of a wolf. I’ve tried to figure her out. I still don’t have any answers. I doubt
she will tell me. For some strange reason, I have been okay with this. I can’t
explain why. It’s just always been that way. It’s kind of strange that I never
questioned it though. She had the power to do that in a way. I never noticed it
until now.
I think I might have
found her again.
I probably should
back up again. I told you this story was going to be all over the place. Just
bear with me. First, there was one thing that never changed about her. She loved
me no matter what I did. Even when I went off to war. Even when I didn’t return
for months. Even when it took months to reciprocate her love again. I never
understood it. Why did she believe in me so much?
“Why do you have so
much faith in me?” I asked her one day. She just smiled and moved her head from
side to side. She used to drive me crazy with that. I found it so endearing. I
never could explain why.
She was the one who
insisted that we would be married one day. I laughed at her at first.
“Married? Are you
serious?” I asked. She kept her eyes on me. She didn’t have to say anything. Oh…
I tried to laugh it
off. She kept her eyes on me. Oh shit. She was serious. I don’t remember what
happened after that. Either that or my mind blocked it out due to the shock.
Nevertheless, she wore me down. However, it would be years before we finally
would marry. She just had a weird way of bending me to her will.
I could go on and on about her, but I don’t think I could ever do a good job in words. It’s best if I showed it to you. Here goes…
