V: Princess’ Downfall

There was a death in the morning.

The prince was taken to the execution square.

He hid his eyes and smirk.

The prisoners counted down to what would happen next.

The fallen princess sat on her throne.

It looked like another day of bloodshed.

So easy that it almost bored her.

Today would be no different.

Of would it?

The prince was brought before the fallen princess.

She raised her eyebrow at him.

“Any last words?”

The prince smirked.

“Yeah. What turned you like this? You used to be sweet and fair.

Who made you like this?”

The princess glared at him.

“Enough!”

“Your brother wasn’t killed in battle.”

Whispers filled the court.

The princess snorted.

“What do you mean?”

“I mean, he was murdered.”

Gasps and whispers filled the court.

The princess eyed him.

“What?”

The prince smirked.

“Ask your beloved general about that accident on the base three years earlier.”

All eyes fell on this tall man towering over the princess.

His own eyes widened as he backed away.

“I don’t know what he’s talking about. He’s making up things to

Cause disruption.”

Another soldier his age stepped forward.

“I saw it myself, my princess.

Our general killed our commander.”

One by one, each guard and soldier doomed the general.

The tower of a man seemed to shrink by each word.

The princess turned to her general.

“Is this true?”

All eyes remained on him.

The general gritted his teeth.

“He was too soft. His job should’ve went to me!

I should be the commander!

I should be the commander!”

Shouts erupted in the court.

“Murderer!”

“Murderer!”

“Murderer!”

“Murderer!”

The general’s face burned bright red.

“Shut up all of you! I hate this stupid kingdom!”

Something inside of the princess broke.

“I hate you all! Guards! Kill them all!”

A battle zone erupted in court.

It was hard to tell who was fighting whom.

The prisoners got their revenge on the guards that mistreated them.

The princess didn’t care anymore.

Learning the truth of her beloved brother’s death reopened old wounds.

Now, she had nothing left inside of her.

The prince stood in front her with pity in his eye.

“Do you want to end this now?”

“Yes.”

“Very well.”

With one slash of his silver blade smuggled into the court,

The reign of blood came to an end.

The princess’ head hit the golden floor of the court.

And then…

Silence.
