For the Love of Artemis

It's been two weeks.

Artemis had been holed up in a mental institution after Noiz's little prank. Those poor girls in the art club was not expecting down. The kitty laughed at his misfortune. She hadn't expected it to go too well. Things had gotten quieter around Animal House. Noiz didn't feel like scream or punching something when she saw Artemis'. In fact, the kitty found herself really smiling. Yeah, best way to get rid of the idiots at the top.
But, there came problems with that line of thinking.

On Monday, she walked the hallway of Animal House. Noiz passed by Conrad and John.

"Hey, guys," she said. The boys just walked past her. They didn't even make eye contact. The kitty girl lowered her hand. Strange... It didn't stop there. Everyone in cafeteria cut cold looks at her. Even June hissed at her. At first, Noiz couldn't understand it.

"Is something wrong?" she asked. Mosh sighed and shook his head.

"What?" Noiz asked.

"You don't understand, do you?" her boyfriend asked.

"Understand what?" she asked.

"Forget it," Mosh said. "Thanks for the meal." He stood up to leave.

"No, tell me," Noiz said. "Why's everyone being so cold towards me?" Mosh paused and turned around.

"Just take a look around you," he said. Noiz tilted her head as he walked away.

Meanwhile, Mosh sent Shannon and Perry to look into something at the mental institution. The couple signed into the guest book at the front desk.

"May we please see Artemis?" Perry asked.

"Sure," the receptionist said. "He should be out in the garden around this time." Shannon stared off at the walls off into space.

"Come on dear," Perry said. He had to take her by the hand and led her down the hall. Just as they were told, Perry and Shannon found Artemis in the garden. He sat near the doors, staring at a brick wall. Perry walked up to him and gently shook him on the shoulder.

"Artemis," he said. "Artemis. Artemis." Shannon took hold of her husband's hand. Perry gave her a puzzled look as she eyed him.

"Dear?" he asked.

"I got this," she said. Shannon walked around to Artemis and leaned down to his ear.

"You're not fooling anyone, you know?" she whispered. "I know your game because I used to do it to. You know what you need right now?" The woman stood up straight and clenched her teeth.

"A good kick in the nuts!" she said. Artemis whipped his head around.

"Hey!" he shouted. Perry turned to his wife with big eyes. Shannon stood back with her arms folded across her chest.

"Just as I thought," she said. She turned and walked back into the building. Artemis and Perry looked at each other with confused looks on their faces.

"What just happened?" the latter asked.

"I see," Mosh said, nodding over the phone. "That's rather interesting. Just as I thought. Thanks for Shannon." The mouse boy hung up with a smirk. He already came up with his plan.

-Three Days Later-

More and more of the boys started ignoring Noiz. The kitty couldn't understand it. She would walk over to a table only for the people to get up and walk away. Even the staff around Animal House started to ignore her. The kitty acted like it didn't get to her. By Friday, she wanted to scream.

"Damn it!" she yelled in her dorm. "Why the hell is everyone being an asshole towards me?!" Mosh turned around with a sympathetic smile on his face.

"Don't you see it yet?" he asked.

"See what?" Noiz asked. The mouse boy walked over and sat down on the bed.

"You've taken away Animal House's symbol of hate," he said.

"Huh?" Noiz asked. Her boyfriend gently took by the hands.

"We all were united under our common despise of Artemis," the mouse boy explained. "Now that you scared him off, we don't have anything to unite under." His girlfriend gave him a strange look.

"Why?" she asked. "I thought you all wanted him gone."

"We do, but you took it too far," Mosh said. Noiz gave him a blank stare. She began to open her mouth, but the mouse boy gently put his finger to her lips.

"There is a way that you can fix it," he said.

"Huh?" his girlfriend asked.

---------

Mosh took Noiz down to the Humming Bird Garden Institution. The kitty groaned and threw back her head.

"Do I have to do this?" she asked.

"You want the guys talking to you again, don't you?" Mosh asked. Noiz puffed up her cheeks and rubbed her forehead. Her boyfriend had to lead her along inside. He had to do the signing in at the front desk. The couple came out to the garden. They found Artemis near the building, staring at the brick wall. Mosh walked around and shook the house head on the shoulder.

"Artemis," he said. "Artemis, you have someone to see you." The house head turned and saw Noiz standing beside the mouse boy. Artemis leapt back and starting screaming. Mosh tried his best to calm him down.

"Shhh, it's okay. It's okay," he said. "She's not going to do anything to you. She came here with something to say to you." The mouse boy pushed his girlfriend forward. Noiz clenched her fists and gritted her teeth. She mumbled something under her breath.

"What?" Artemis asked. The kitty girl repeated herself a little bit louder.

"What did you say?" he asked again. Noiz growled as she started to see red.

"I'm sorry!" she shouted. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! There! I said it! I apologized for my little prank I did three weeks ago. You happy now?!" The kitty girl panted with a red face. Artemis looked at her like a hurt little puppy.

"Do you really mean it?" he asked.

"Yes!" Noiz shouted.

"So you'll leave Animal House?" Artemis asked.

"I never said that," Noiz said. The house head followed his arms again his chest.

"Then it's not a real apology," he said.

"Why you...!" the kitty girl cried. Mosh put his hand on her shoulder. Noiz turned to him with her teeth clenched.

"What?!" she snapped. The mouse boy smiled and shook his head.

"Okay, Artemis," he said. "That's enough now. Artemis, I know that you have been faking it." Artemis' eyes widened in panic. Noiz whipped her head around to her boyfriend.

"What are you talking about?" she asked.

"Shannon told me everything," Mosh said. "I knew something wasn't right, so I sent her and Perry down to visit you." Artemis struggled in vain to speak before he finally dropped his head, muttering to himself. The kitty glared at her boyfriend as he tried not to laugh at them both.
