Chapter Seven:
Long, Slow Night:
We lay in bed
together. I don’t know what time it was, but the sun hadn’t come up yet. I turn
my head.
“Are you happy?”
I asked.
“Yes,” he says.
“Are you?” I break into a little smile. I love nights like this. We don’t really
have to go anywhere. It’s just him and me. He kisses me on the forehead. I
giggle and nuzzle him on the neck.
“Can every night
be like this?” I ask.
“Hm?” he asks. I
shake my head.
“It’s nothing,”
I say at last. Mosh plays with my chin as I rest my head on his arm.
“I don’t have
anything else to say,” I murmur.
“Me neither,” he
says. I put my arm around his strong body.
“Can we just
stay like this until morning?” I ask. Mosh rubs my shoulder.
“Sure,” he says.
I kiss him on the cheek.
“I love you,” I
whisper.
“I love you too,” he says. I smile as I close my eyes and drift off to sleep.
