Chapter Twenty-Six: Radio Love:
Morgan decided to get started right on her mission. She put up a flyer on the
bulletin board. “Country Boys wanted for social experiment. Take number at the
bottom. Call or text me.” Morgan stood back and smiled.
“Perfect,” she said to herself. Now for the cowboys to come and contact us.
“You sure this will work?” another DJ asked next to her. Morgan turned her head.
“Only one way to see,” she said.
The first number was taken around nine in the morning. By noon, half of the
numbers were gone. This looked promising. Let’s see who came by to sign up.
Morgan was in a good mood for the rest of the day. The first number binged on
her phone. She looked down at her pocket. The first contestant would meet up
with her this afternoon.
“How would you do this?” another DJ asked. Morgan turned to him with a smile on
her face.
“How else?” she asked. “Speed dating!”
“Huh?” he asked. Morgan smiled and winked. Her cohort didn’t have a good feeling
about this.

Date #1:
Name: Ricky
Morgan raised her eyebrow. “So, tell me about yourself.” Across from her sits a
junior with short light brown hair. His baseball cap shielded his face. His
flannel shirt and jeans with stubble look promising.
“Uh… I’m from South Carolina,” Ricky said.
“Is that so?” Morgan asked.
“Yes.”
“So… are you seeing anyone?”
“No.” Ricky seemed to relax into it. She held out her hand.
“My name’s Morgan,” she said. “I am the DJ of the school.” He raised his
eyebrow.
“That’s you over the radios in the morning?” Ricky asked.
“That’s right,” Morgan said. “Big fan, I take it?” He nervously laughed.
“Not really…” he said. The DJ laughed it off.
“That’s okay,” she said. So far so good. This was the first guy after all. How
many more would she have to go through today? Meanwhile, Ricky tried to come up
with something to say. He opened his mouth, but Morgan put up her hand.
“Shhh,” she whispered. Ricky gave her a strange look. The DJ lowered her hand.
“Thank you,” she said. “That will be it for now. I might see you later.” The
Southern boy had a confused look on his face as she winked at him.
“Next!” Morgan called. Ricky got up from the table with a confused look on his
face. Meanwhile, the DJ straightened up her hair and grinned. Who was going to
be coming next?

Wallace walked up to the bulletin board and saw Morgan’s number. Hm… A social experiment. Sounds interesting. The country boy ripped down a copy of the number and walked down the hall.
