Chapter Thirty-Five: Two Become Three:
Wallace already had his confused feeling for Julia and what he really wanted to
worry about. Somehow, he managed to have another problem on his hands.
Morgan wasn’t done with Wallace yet. She had an experiment to carry out with him
after all. She wasn’t going to let him go that easily. Morgan had her team on
the case. She paid them of course. The play was set to open before winter break.
The actors would be rehearsing today. Morgan grinned to herself. She didn’t have
any evening classes and Robbie took the night shift on the radio show. The
elements played in her favor.
She just needed to get Julia out of the way.
Morgan waited outside of the auditorium around three. She stood by the door and
waited. Her best bet would be to catch Wallace as he was leaving. He would
probably be with Julia, but she wasn’t going to give up. Morgan look at her
phone. Ten more minutes.
She looked up when she heard the doors open. The actors were slowly coming out.
Morgan stood on her tip toes and looked.
“Come on… where are you?” she asked herself. Morgan kept looking. Her lips
curved into a catlike smile.
“There!” she said. She spotted Wallace walking out with Julia. Morgan
straightened up her hair and clothes. Show time. The DJ pushed her way through
the crowd.
“Excuse me!” she shouted. “Excuse me. Excuse me. Excuse me.” She made her way
over to the couple(?).
Wallace and Julia looked up in time to see a girl with long brown her pushing
her away towards them.
“Who is that?” Julia whispered. Wallace shrugged and shook his head. Morgan made
her way over to them.
“Hey!” she said. The couple(?) looked confused.
“Hello?” Julia asked.
“Wallace! How have you been?” Morgan asked.
“Fine…” the country boy said. His eyes shifted away from her.
“I’m sorry, who are you?” Julia asked. The DJ grinned.
“Oh, where are my manners?” she asked. “My name is Morgan. And you are?”
“Julia,” the actress said.
“Nice to meet you,” the DJ said. “I work the morning shift on the radio.” Julia
and Wallace looked just as confused. Okay, where was this going? Morgan flipped
back her long brown hair.
“Hey, I am planning a little hang out this weekend,” she said. “Do you want to
come?” Julia and Wallace didn’t know how to respond at first. Morgan put up her
hand.
“You don’t have to answer right away,” she said. “Just think about it and let me
know.” Morgan pulled out her phone.
“Let’s exchange numbers,” she said.
“Uh… okay,” Wallace said. Julia shrugged.
“Sure,” she said. The country boy whipped his head around. Morgan grinned.
“Great!” she said. Julia gave the DJ her number. Wallace hesitated at first. He
noticed the girls staring at him. Morgan wagged her phone in front of her face.
The country boy sighed and pulled out his phone.
“Okay, what is it?” he asked. The DJ was more than happy to give him her number.
“Great,” she said. She looked at her phone screen.
“Well, I’m not going to hold you up any longer,” Morgan said. She turned to
leave.
“Nice meeting you!” she said. The DJ gave them a two-finger salute and walked
away. Julia and Wallace looked at each other.
“What was that all about?” she asked. He shrugged and shook his head. That was only the beginning for the three of them.
