Creamy Rabbit

Masayuki froze. The girl didn’t say anything audible. Still, her words dug deep into his brain.

“What did you say?” he asked. The child walked up to him. She reached and grabbed his right wrist. A strange and familiar warmth filled his body. Masayuki stared down at the child. He could see deep into her eyes.

Let me help you.

“But who are you?” The boy tried to ask. His voice didn’t come out of his throat. Still, his words got into her head.

You know who I am.

A hazy pink light started to surround his body. Masayuki felt his body being pulled closer to the child. He didn’t get the chance to even form words in his head. His face was inches from her small chest. The child pushed him further into her body. And then he was gone.

She took down her hands from her chest. The child whispered something to her chest.

It’s okay. I will take you where you need to go.

The child turned and walked down the path, humming to herself.

He lost track of the target. He clicked his tongue. That boy must have had help. It didn’t take him long to put the pieces together. He just couldn’t figure out how. There was something else on his mind.

Time was running out for him as well. He had to get the rest of Baby Doll’s soul back. The piece that he had snatched back was acting strange. He hadn’t had the time to fully examine it. He leaned and looked at the piece that he had. It tried to stay still when he looked it up and down.

“Hm…”

The piece didn’t move. It was like he was daring her. His hand reached out to the hazy shimmer. The surface started to bend a little bit. He quickly drew back his fingers.

“Heh,” he said. The piece tried to remain still. He leaned in and took a sniff. Or at least that’s what it looked like he was doing. The piece looked like it started to sweat. He lingered over it for about five seconds. The other gate was staring at them. He wondered if he should try and say something.

He backs up with a smirk on his face.

“Just as I thought,” he said. The piece remained still. It looked like he was about to walk away. But then he paused. He turned and walked back over to it. He only said one thing as he leaned down to the piece.

“I know what you are trying to do. You aren’t fooling me. It’s not going to work. I just wanted you to know that.”

And then he was gone.

The piece couldn’t move but the endless feeling of dread began to build in the center. She knew that she was going to have to work faster to get back to the rest of her soul. There was some good news in that she found a hook to get started. The contact was successful. Now, she had to try and see if it was going to be enough.

-Masayuki-

Where am I now? I opened my eyes and looked around. There was nothing here. I don’t even think my body was here. I tried to look at my hands. They weren’t there as predicted. I should be used to this by now, but somehow I’m not. The longer I stay here, there more… unsettled I become.

I remembered what happened and how I got here. That weird little girl grabbed me and pulled me into her body. What did she do to me? Who was she and why did she pull me into… wherever this was? There wasn’t even a way out of here.

Are you alright?

“Yeah. What did you do to me?”

You’re inside me now. I will take you where you need to go.

“Why would you do that?”

She wants to help you save her. Please don’t ask any more questions. We have to get going. I know where you need to go next.

I didn’t have anything else to say. Something inside of me told me that she knew what she was talking about. I didn’t have time to argue with her. I put down my hands and backed off.

“Lead the way.”

Thank you.

I sat back and let her take control for the time being.

The girl turned and began walking down a path made of spongey white balls.
