Chapter Seven:
Pompeii:
Diamond sits at
the breakfast table. “Good morning, dear. Sleep well. Eat up, we’re going to
someplace wonderful. For you, of course. It doesn’t do anything for me. We’re
going to Pompeii today.” She frowns and rolls her eyes.
“It’s not my
thing. I like the trendy side of Italy. Sure, Pompeii has history and scandalous
secrets. But that’s just not for me. I could just look up everything on Google.
The internet is a beautiful thing after all. But don’t worry. I won’t spoil the
trip for you.”
She takes a bite
of prosciutto. “I will stay with you through the tour. I have to be a good
hostess after all. I enjoy seeing to all of your travel needs. This will be
another day on my job for you.” She sips some of her juice.
“You can guess
what we are doing afterwards, right?” She grinned. “Of course you do. But we
might have to scale back on the shopping. My mother is starting to ask questions
about our shopping trips.” She nervously laughed.
“Yeah. But we
will work around that. We will still do the sight-seeing and have some good
food. Don’t worry. I can make it work. Trust me. You are in good hands.” She
finishes up her breakfast.
“Now finish eating! We have to s going. You don’t want to be late, do you? Of course you don’t. Eat up.” She pats you on the arm and grins.
