Chapter
Twenty-Two: Saint Petersburg and Moscow:
This is the last
stop before we leave Europe. Finally, we come to Russia and see how Tony, Polly,
and Andi are doing. It’s nighttime in Russia now and day two is about to come to
a close.
-Saint
Petersburg-
Andi sat at the
bar in the packed nightclub. She needed to take a break. Sure dancing on the
dancefloor with other girls was good but there was such thing as too much of a
good thing. Right now, Andi just wanted to be alone. The woman quietly looked
around for the exit. Would it be bad if she slipped away while her friends were
still partying? She thought about it.
It was then Andi
noticed someone sitting next to her. Against her better judgement, she turned
her head. He looked so cheesy. The suit. The slicked back black hair. The gold
in his teeth. The toothpick hanging out of it. Andi rolled her eyes. She could
see where this was going.
“No thank you, I
already have a drink,” Andi said as clearly as she could. She held up her glass
to show that she meant it. The man lowered his shades and whistled.
“Who said I
wanted to get you a drink?” he asked. “I just wanted to keep you company. You
looked so lonely.” Andi rolled her eyes. One of those men, huh?
“Well, I am not
lonely,” she said. “I’m with my friends. Nice talking to you.” Andi slid off the
stool and started walking away. But then, the guy grabbed her by the wrist. The
woman whipped her head around. The man grinned at her.
“Hey!” Andi
said.
“Come on,
honey,” he said. “Don’t be like that.” He tried to lean in for a kiss. She
screamed and slapped him the face.
“You bitch!” the
man growled. But Andi was already gone. The man looked around clicked his
tongue.
Meanwhile, Andi
managed find her friends. One of them looked up and saw her.
“What happened
to you?” she asked over the music. Andi didn’t say anything as she started to
dance to Christmas remixes. Maybe she didn’t need to be too alone.

-Moscow-
“Good night,”
Tony said. “See you tomorrow.” He closed the door and took a breath. He leaned
against the door.
“I thought they
would never leave,” Tony said. “Don’t get me wrong. I love the family but they
are exhausting.” Polly looked up from on the couch. She didn’t say anything with
an empty glass in her hand. Her husband smiled.
“You know
something?” he asked. “I’m not completely tired tonight.” He walked over to the
couch. Polly raised an eyebrow at him. Tony sat down next to her on the couch.
He put his arm around her shoulders. The man leaned in for a kiss. Polly gently
pushed him off.
“Not tonight,”
she said. The woman got up and walked out of the living room. Tony frowned at
her back.
“Are we going to do it tomorrow night?” he asked. Polly waved him off as she walked down the hall in their small apartment. Tony leaped to his feet and followed behind when the bedroom door closed.
