Chapter Three: Venice:

-Day Three-

Diamond held out her arms. “Morning! How did you sleep? Excellent.” She grinned.

“We’re going stick around in Venice. That’s right. We’re going to explore my hometown. I was born in Venice, you know.” She closed her eyes and smiled.

“Ah, yes. Beautiful Venice. The waters look so much better now. So clear and clean. They didn’t used to be like that. Funny how a global virus can clear up the world. Wouldn’t you agree? Of course you do.” Diamond stretched her arms above her head.

“So what are we doing today? There’s a glass maker shop that I always wanted to see. You’ll love it. The artists are so skilled. It’s like watching a magic trick with their hands. I wonder how they do it sometimes.” She twirled around for a bit.

“Then we can so some sight-seeing. Oh, I have to visit my folks at some time. You don’t mind, do you? It won’t take too long. I will just pop in and say hi. Then we can be on our way.” Diamond’s eyes lit up as she clapped her hands together.

“Great! Thank you so much!” She hugs her guest wildly.

“I will make it worth your while today. We will do the sight-seeing. Want to take a ride on the gondola through the waters? It will be a challenge but I will see what I can do. Again, lunch and dinner will be on me. It won’t be pizza again. What will we eat?” She giggled aloud.

“I’m going to surprise you. You will be acquainted with Italian cuisine by the time this trip is done. After that, we will do more shopping.” Diamond pouted.

“Aw, come on. You can never do too much shopping. How often do you get to go out to Italy? Exactly. So you might as well live it up. That’s why you’ve got me here for. We might even get to try some wine later. Don’t worry. It’s perfectly legal for me. Same for you too.” She looked up at the sky.

“You know, I wandered what night life was like. Maybe we’ll get to explore it.” She takes her guests by the hands.

“Come on. I want to show you the best that Venice has to offer. Let’s get going. The glass shop is about to open. I want to get a good seat.”
