Dateline: Our crew gets
into an endless nightmare. Aneko saved the day by kicking the demon off
of the machine.
“Another boring
day in Akaichigo-san’s class.” thought Aneko as she tried to fall asleep.
Aneko was in history class in a juku school. She had ten more days until
she was out for the summer. “Tskibara-chan! Pay attention!!!” yelled
the teacher. Aneko quickly awoke her half sleep. “Now as I was saying.”
said Akaichigo-san. “Your final assignment is: To find the roots of your
family and write a paper on it.” Aneko lit up. “This will be easy!” she
thought. Then as if the teacher had read her mind she concluded: You must
get research from both sides of your families.” Aneko felt as if a stone
was crushing her heart. She knew nothing about her father. She didn’t know
what to do. One of the students raised their hands. “Yes Usasiryu-chan.”
said Akaichigo-san. “What if your parents are divorced?” asked Becky. “Then
if you live near by them walk over to them and ask. If your mom and dad
live far away, then call them.” explained the teacher. “Okay.” said Becky.
Then Joe raised his hand. “Yes Joe-chan.” said Akaichigo-san. “My dad is
in the military and I doubt he has access. Would writing him a letter do?”
he asked nervously. “Why of course!” said the teacher. “Thanks!” said he.
Some each said parents were on business trips and the teacher told them
to call them up when they were on break. This gave Aneko an idea. “Akaichigo-san.
My dad is dead. What can I do?” she asked as she raised her hand. “Then
get info from your other relatives.” answered the teacher sounding a bit
irritated. “Oh.” said Aneko. Then the bell rang and the students rushed
out of the door eager to start on their projects. Aneko was walking slowly
behind them all. She had doubts that any of her family members had any
information about him.
***
“Hi Mom.” Aneko said sadly
as she entered in the house and took off her shoes. “Hi dear. You sound
upset.” said Megan. “We have to do a history project on our family roots.”
answered Aneko. “And why is that a problem?” asked Megan. “I don’t know
anything about dad.” the princess said sadly. “Well, just ask around.”
said Megan. Aneko had doubts about that. “All right, I’ll try.” she said.
Then she went up stairs to her room.

When Aneko opened her sliding
door, she saw a golden book laying face down. “Why is this lying on the
floor in my room?!?” she asked sounding annoyed. She had put the book up
in the past. So she just grabbed the book and threw it onto the bed in
the guest bedroom. Then she returned to her room and thought about how
to do her project. She seemed overwhelmed until the phone rang. “Hello?”
she said when she answered it. “Hey Aneko! It’s me.” said a boy’s voice.
“Teddy bear?” asked Aneko. “No, This is Danny.” answered the boy. “Sorry
man, What’s up Dan?” asked Aneko. “Listen, we decided to go on a trip this
weekend. Wanna come?” asked Danny. “Sure, let me get permission first.”
said Aneko. Then she put the phone down and ran to the living room. After
she asked, she went back to her and picked out the phone. “She said yes,
if I take my homework.” said Aneko. “Great! We’ll pick you up tomorrow.”
said Danny. “And by the way, what homework do you have?” “Just a stupid
history project.” she replied. “Oh, I see! Well, see you tomorrow.” said
Danny. “Sayonara!” said Aneko. Then she hung up the phone. And with that,
Aneko began to pack her things. When she was done packing, she put on her Pjs and went to bed.

The next day
Aneko was all
packed and ready to go. When a mini van pulled to the palace, Aneko kissed
her mother good-bye and went out the door to greet the crew. Once she was
on the mini van, she opened up her backpack to pull out her c.d. player.
But when she did, what did she find? The same golden book that was lying
on the floor in her room. Just about when she was getting annoyed, she
read the title. Royal birth documents was what it was called. “Could
this have something to do with my family?” she thought. So she opened
it and read the first page. “Introduction: These are the birth documents
of the royal Tsukibara family. This book will hold the documents of the
members on Aneko’s mom’s side. Due to the fact that a few records were
spared, this book goes from Abby-Aneko. This book starts at Abby when
she is sixteen & ends when Aneko is * Turn page * is fourteen.
There is not much about Aneko’s father. One more note, this book also
includes a timeline for each descendent. So enjoy.” read Aneko. The
princess was so into reading, that she didn’t notice that the mini van
had came to a complete stop. “Hey! Aneko!” Misty yelled as she pulled on
Aneko’s arm. “Wha? What’s going on? Why have we stopped?” the princess asked
as she looked around. “All right crew listen up!” yelled the driver. “We
have a really bad storm ahead, so we’ll have to stop at the nearest building
to rest until the storm passes. So when you see a building or something,
give a shout or something. All right?” “Yes san” said the passengers. “Well,
no beach today.” sighed Nina. The mini van drove for a few hours. Jenny
finally saw a mansion. “Yo! Driver-san! I found a place for you!” she cried
out. “Where?” asked he. “Right over there!” she answered as she pointed
out the window to the old mansion. The crew took one look at the mansion.
“It looks kinda scary!” said Sora. “Well, take it or leave it.” said Jenny.
The crew thought for a moment and decided to take it. So the driver pulled
into the driveway and stopped. The passengers quietly boarded off the mini
van and ran up to the mansion.

They crowded
around the door. “Who’s ringing the door?” asked Matt. “I’m-m-m not-t-t-t!”
yelled/shivered Gezzele. She was scared of ghosts and haunted houses. The
children refused. All except Jimmy
who was looking around at the trees. “Jimmy?” asked Matt. “Yeah, dad?”
said he. “Would you like to ring the door bell?” he asked his future son.
“Yes san!” said the immortal of death. Then he ran over to the door and
a rang it’s bell. It made a deep gong sound. A young looking girl came
up to the door and opened it. “Yes?” she asked. “Excuse me chan, we were
on our we to the beach and this storm came. When saw this house, we thought
that we could stay here until…” explained the driver. “Why of course you
can stay ‘til the storm passes over.” interpreted the girl with a smile
on her face. Her eyes lit up with joy. Then without even thinking whether
to trust them or not, she escorted the party in and closed the door behind
them.
***
“That was weird. She didn’t
even ask us if we had any weapons.” said Jeffrey to his older sister as
they the girl showed them around the house. “Yeah, I know.” said Alex.
“Something isn’t right.” said her brother. “Keep your eyes open.” she advised
him. “Right.” he said. Aneko looked into a room and saw an old lady sitting
in a velvet red Victorian chair. The woman seemed to be smiling at her.
“Aneko!” yelled the rest of the crew. “Coming!” she called out. She raced
over to the crew quickly. “I know what you seek, little Kohana.”
thought the old woman.

Later that night,
Aneko
looked around to see if anyone else was awake. When she saw that everyone
was asleep, she took out the book she was reading and opened to page three.
“Abby Ryutora. Born: 8/16/1816 Faded away: 1/24/1926. July 27 1832:
Abby, who was sent to a Buddhist manor when she was a baby because her
father wanted a son instead of a daughter to follow in his footsteps, finds
that she is princess of Honshu island.” Aneko read to herself. After
she read that much information, Aneko began to write it down in her own
words. She was just about to read more information when she heard what
sounded like fine china hitting the floor. “Hello?” she asked. “Who’s there?”
Then she climbed out of bed, put on her white silk robe, and went to investigate
with her book and supplies to write her report.
***
Aneko quietly tiptoed down
steps and looked around. It was pitch black. Soon her eyes adjusted to
the dark. She saw that it was a grand hallway. “Everything seems normal!
It’s just a normal hallway! You were only hearing things! Just go back
to bed!” she said to herself in her head. She was about to turn that
direction when she heard the sound of breaking glass. “What was that?”
she thought. Then she decided to look a little farther. So she gathered
up her courage and processed down the hall.

Back in the rooms,
Takeru awoke and looked over at Aneko’s bed to see that she wasn’t in it.
“Patamon! Wake up!” he yelled at his digimon as he shook him awake. “Wha…
What is it? Takeru?” asked the tired digimon. “Patamon! She’s gone!” shouted
the young digidestined. “What are you talking about? Who’s gone?” asked
Patamon. “Aneko! She’s not in her bed!” yelled Takeru. “Don’t worry. She probably
went downstairs to get a drink of water or something.” said Patamon. Then
he went back to sleep. But Takeru took this seriously. He quickly leapt out
of bed, got dressed and ran down stairs to look for his girlfriend.

Aneko wandered
down to the living room. It was big, old, and drafty. The red Indian patterned
carpet that completely covered the floor gave it its ancient look along with the
stone fireplace that with lit with a brightly colored fire. The room smelt of
roasting chestnuts. Near the fire, Aneko noticed an old velvet scarlet
reclining chair in front of the fireplace. “Come in, little Kohana.” said
an old crackly voice from behind the chair. Startled by how the woman knew
her name in her earlier form, Aneko stepped forward speechless. “Come around
to me so I can see your beautiful face.” said the old voice. Aneko bravely
came around to the chair. She was stunned to see what she saw when she
came around. She saw old woman with really wrinkly skin, white hair, and
wearing old rags. The old woman took a glance at the princess and smiled.
“I haven’t seen you since you were three years old.” she said. Aneko was
still trembling. “There’s nothing to be scared of, I won’t hurt you.” said
the old lady. That didn’t help Aneko at all. “I know that you seek your
roots.” the old woman continued. Aneko’s fear turned into curiosity. Maybe
this woman could be of use to her. “Come sit down on my lap and I’ll tell
you all that you need to know.” explained the old woman. Aneko obeyed. “Do
you know anything about my father?” Aneko asked her. “Yes I do.” said the
old woman. “Your father was a nice, brave young man. He was a bit stubborn
though. He loved you and your mother more than anything…” As the woman
talked, Aneko began writing. A few hours later, the others found Aneko with
the old lady. When they found her, the old woman began to tell them about
their families’ roots. She talked on all night long.

The next morning, the crew
packed up and left for the beach. When Aneko got home, she typed up her
paper and printed it out. She got an A+ on her paper for creativity.
