Cupid Junction Pt. 2
-Kasumi + Tokuma-
He’s going for it tonight. Tokuma pumped himself up in the mirror.
“I can do this,” he said to himself. Suddenly, his phone buzzed. Tokuma looked
down to see a text from Kasumi. His heart flipped in his chest. The bassist
unlocked his phone.
“Meet me in the café,” the message read. Tokuma stared at his screen. This was
it. He had now or never. Tokuma took one more look at the mirror.
“Show time,” he said. The bassist turned and walked out of the bathroom.
----------
Kasumi had to look her best for this. She rarely went out of her way to look
cute. It was usually jeans and a t-shirt for her. Tonight, she had on a cute
yellow and green sundress. She had her hair pulled back. Kasumi sat on the
couch, waiting. She looked at her phone. No response. Just give it a couple more
minutes. Kasumi took a breath.
“Hey, waiting long?” someone asked. The bassist jerked her head upward. Tokuma
stood in front of her.
“Yo!” he said with a wave. Kasumi sat up straight.
“Hello?” she asked.
“May I join you?” Tokuma asked. The woman quickly nodded. He sat down next to
her. They didn’t speak at first. Tokuma looked at the ceiling.
“I like you,” he said. It just slipped out. The bassist covered his mouth.
Kasumi stared at him. There it was. It was out there. What now?
Kasumi pressed her lips together.
“I like you too,” she said slowly. Her cheeks turned red. Tokuma’s eyes widened.
“Wow! Really? You mean it?” he asked.
“Yeah,” Kasumi said.
“So… do you want to date?” he asked. Why was this so hard? The female bassist
giggled.
“What?” Tokuma asked.
“Kiss me,” she said. He leaned in and kissed her. It felt like fireworks
exploding in the sky. Kasumi slowly pulled away. Tokuma felt so cold for some
reason. She smiled at him.
“Was that your first kiss?” Kasumi asked. The man blushed.
“Yeah,” he said.
“Then yes,” she said.
“Yes?” he asked.
“Yes, we are dating,” Kasumi said. Tokuma perked up. They shared another kiss.
---------
-Mai + Isao-
This needs a resolution. That Mai and Isao agree on.
“You like me,” he said.
She whipped her head around.
“Shut up!” she snapped. Her face was so red. Isao tired not to laugh. She hit
him in the side.
“Shut up!” Mai shouted.
“Okay, okay,” Isao said. “Geez!” Mai rolled her eyes.
“I think I like you,” Isao said. Mai glared at him. But she said nothing.
“I’m serious,” he said. Mai rolled her eyes.
“Why?” she asked. The male vocalist had a serious look on his face.
“You just grew on me,” Isao said. Mai snorted.
“Liar,” she said. Her cheeks were so red. Neither singer spoke at first. It
looked like Isao would have to make the first move.
“Look,” he said. “I think I could love you. If you gave me a chance—”
“You think?”
“Yes!”
“Ha!” Mai threw back her head and laughed. Isao patiently waited. The female
vocalist stopped laughing. She frowned.
“Seriously?” she asked.
“Yes,” he said. There was a pause. Mai stared at him. They were alone on the
street but not at the same time. They might as well be alone. Mai cursed herself
under her breath.
“Damn it! Why do you do this to me?!” she asked.
“Do what?” Isao asked. She rubbed her forehead.
“You stress me out!” she yelled. “You drive me crazy! You’re annoying! You’re
annoying and I hate you!” She gritted her teeth.
“But?” Isao asked. Mai took a breath and threw back her head.
“But… I feel something else for you,” she said. The woman clenched her fists by
her sides.
“Fuck it! I like you too!” she shouted. Isao pulled her into his arms and kissed
her on the lips. Mai went limp in his arms. He slowly pulled away after a few
seconds. She stared up at him with big eyes.
“What was that for?” Mai asked. Isao shrugged.
“Because you let me,” he said. She hit him on the arm and smiled.
“Idiot,” she said. Mai kissed him again.
