Mindfield
-Cook-
Well now. We’re
in a bit of a mess. I thought those fields were empty. How was I to know that
vampire gods lived here? I looked over at Omi and Peter. Peter was glaring at
me.
“My bad,” I
mouthed at him. He stuck up his middle finger at me.
-Three Hours
Ago-
“It’s right
here,” I said. I pointed down the narrow trail. Peter has seen this before. Omi
checked on his phone.
“Are you sure
this is the right way?” he asked.
“Yeah!” I said.
“Come on!” I walked down the bath. Peter and Omi were reluctant but followed
behind. I had my phone out. What do you have for us? I was going to find out.
The trees
blocked out the sky. Omi held out his hand.
“I think it’s
going to rain,” he said. I waved him off.
“It’s fine,” I
said. We kept walking down the path. Even little drops hitting my face didn’t
deter me.
We didn’t notice
that we were being followed.
----------
-Now-
So here we were.
We’re surrounded by vampires. I looked up at one of them. He glared at me.
Great. We’re being held hostage by old pissed off vampires. They took our
phones. And I think they want to kill us. Peter’s glaring at me while Omi’s been
quiet.
“What’cha
thinking?” I whispered. He shook his head.
“Oi! Stop
talking!” one of them shouted. I put up my hands.
“Okay, okay!
Geez!” I said. The guard clicked his tongue. Okay, we have to get out of here.
But how?
That’s when I
saw the darts in Omi’s hand. What the…?

-One Hour
Earlier-
“Guys!” Peter
said. We were at the fence. I looked for an entrance.
“Uh-huh?” I
asked. There was a pause.
“I think
someone’s following us,” Peter said.
“What?” I asked.
There was another pause. I froze.
“Guys?” I asked, turning my head. “Oh…” There had to be about a ton of dudes with guns pointed at us. Omi and Peter had their hands up. I did the same. Oh… Oh shit!
