Misdirection
-Moments
Earlier-
Baby, can you
hear me?
The angel’s eyes
clouded over into empty pools.
Botan-kun? Is
that you?
Crackling filled her right ear. The angel winced and rubbed her ear. Her eyes
came back into focus.
Sorry about
that. Listen to me. I don’t have much time. Masayuki is flying into a trap.
What?
He’s coming to
get back the piece of your soul that’s trapped here.
My soul?
Yes. Your
friends sent him back here to try and get it back. But it’s a trap. He already
knows that your friend is coming here.
What do I do?
Link up with me
and we will try to hide him as he tries to get the rest of your soul back.
His voice sounded hazy, almost like it was underwater. Baby Doll felt like her
head was swimming as her eyes started to water.
What do I need
to do?
Focus your
center on me. We will link up and keep moving in the opposite direction.
Okay.
She closed her eyes and felt her body floating into that space. Her body hit the
floor with a thud.
-------
Masayuki opened
his eyes. The wavy light pink lines shot up red flags. The boy’s eyes shifted
left and right.
“What the…?” he
asked. Something wasn’t right.
Masayuki. Can
you here me?
The boy turned around.
Baby Doll? Is
that you?
Yes.
The boy looked
around in the empty space. “I don’t get it. Where are you?”
I’m still on the
outside. Listen to me, you are in danger. He’s on to what you are doing.
“What?” he
asked.
We don’t have
much time! You have to keep moving so that he can’t track you down.
“Hey, you’re
that kid that was trapped in the chair!” Masayuki said.
Yes. My name is
Botan. I am gate.
“A gate?” the
boy asked with a confused look on his face.
I will explain
everything later. It’s time for you to get moving again.
Masayuki looked
around in the vast empty space. “And go where?”
We will guide you. Just stay
with us. Close your eyes and focus your center on us.
Baby Doll’s voice had a calming effect on the boy’s soul. Masayuki mentally let
himself go as he closed his eyes. His being started floating off the
non-existent ground and started flying away.
In a flash, he was gone again.
