Outside the Box

Awake in the light. Pandora held out her arms to greet it. The light ate up her body.

Dim light. Pandora sits at a table alone. She looks around her. A saw, a stick, and a mirror. She needed a new method. But how? A piece of paper sat in her hands. She read it to herself.

Two Halves Become Whole to Find the Light

What did that mean? She aimed to find out.  Pandora looked down at the table below her. Maybe if...

Pandora picked up the saw and looked at it. Looks sharp. Maybe...

She begins to saw into the table. No dice. Not a single scratch. Pandora looks around. She picks up the stick and takes a whack. Nothing, but the stick breaks. Now she has two sticks.

Pandora tries to saw the table again. Still nothing. She sits back and looks at the ceiling. That's when she notices the mirror.

She looks at the message again.

Two Halves Become Whole to Find the Light

What did this mean? She lit up a cigarette and took a moment to think about it. "Two Halves Become Whole to Find the Light." What the hell did that mean? She looked around her dim walls again. There is no ceiling to this place. The floor and walls existed, but no ceiling. It was always the same, day after day. It was then she realized that she hated this place. Pandora needed to escape.

She picked up the saw and got to work again. Still no results. Pandora stood back and thought about the situation for a moment. Suddenly, an idea floated into her head. She put down the saw and picked up the mirror. Once the glass faced her on the table, she picked up the saw and got to work. This time, she was making progress. The mirror and table began to break under the saw. But yet, this wasn't enough to get the job done. She picked up the sticks and beat the cracks in even more. These weren't little hits either. Bits of glass and marble began flying everywhere. But, she didn't stop. Pandora just had to get out. She kept beating until it all collapsed until her.

Awake in the light. Pandora held out her arms to greet it. The light ate up her body.
