Chapter Fourteen: Scarlet Vice:
-Jiao-
I finally got some time for myself.
Roka’s out looking for a new job. I flopped back on my bed. Now what do I do? I
have never been so bored before in my life. Usually, I would go out flirting. I
don’t even want to do that anymore. I buried my face in my hands.
Oh my god! What the hell has happened to
me?
I came back to reality when I heard
the phone ring. My hand darted for the receiver and put it to my ear. “Hello?”
“What’s the matter, girl?” a familiar
voice asked on the other line. I shot up straight on my book.
“Uma?” I asked. “Why are you calling
me?”
“I haven’t seen you around in ages,”
she said. “What have you been up to?”
I sighed and lowered my shoulders.
“You know that bet I was telling you about?”
“Yeah. Did you lose?”
“No, I won.”
“Was he lousy in bed?”
I shook my head. “No, quite the
opposite. He’s learning quickly and his got a big cock.”
Uma whistled over the phone. “Oh!”
I pressed my lips together as I
nodded. “Yes, yes.”
“So… what’s wrong?”
I puffed up my bangs. “It’s the
afterward.”
“The afterward?”
“I don’t know how to explain it.”
“Try me.”
“Alright…” I sighed as I looked over
at the clock. “Now he just won’t leave.”
“Well, you do have that power over
men.”
“He’s been at my place ever since and
he still won’t leave.”
“Seriously?”
I nodded as I lay back on my bed.
“That’s not even the worst of it.”
“Oh?”
“No,” I answered. “I actually… like
having him around.”
“Oh! Don’t tell me…”
“What?” Her giggling did little to
ease me. “Uma… What are you talking about?”
“You’ve fallen in love.”
I almost choked when I heard that.
“What?! No! I have no time for love!”
“That’s funny, you don’t seem to have
time for anything else anyone.”
“What exactly are you implying there,
huh?”
“Think about it. How do you feel when
you are around your new boy toy, besides annoyed?”
My heart did little flips in my
chest. “Uh, well…”
“See? I can tell from your heart that
you are in love. I don’t even need to see you in person to know.” Before I could
say another word, Uma was quick to add, “Now that just leaves you with two
choices: run away from it and become bored again or suck it up and just accept
it.”
I didn’t like either one of those
options. “What should I do?”
“I can’t help you with that one, babe,” Uma said. We hung up with me
being dissatisfied. Somehow, I won’t like either option in the end.
