Summer Rains Playlist

  1. Lotus Drops: "Genius of Love" by Tom-Tom Club
Nothing like a good 80's love song to set the mood for the story.

  2. Sakuma Drops: "Blue Monday" by New Order
More 80's pop. This song portrays a sense of innocence with the music.

  3. Botan Rice Candy: "Heart and Soul" by T'Pau
I seemed to be picking so much 80's pop for these first few chapters. I just noticed that.

  4. Strawberry Pocky: "Breathe" by Telepopmusik
This song just had a peaceful sound to it. Makes me think of Anzuki in a time of innocence.

  5. Puccho: "How Soon is Now?" by the Smiths
A nice song of longing for love. I am still learning to love the Smiths. I don't know why my aunt hates them.

  6. Mochi: "Cecilia" by Simon and Garfunkel
Despite the lyrics, the music is upbeat enough for this chapter. 'Nough said.

  7. Kakigori: "Heart of Glass" by Blondie
This song fits more with Mike and Kazue.

  8. Goya Chanpuru Drops: "The Weekend Starts Here" by Fat Boy Slim
The song makes me think of Emiko all the way. Maybe it's the smooth tone and beat to the song that Norman Cook provides. It just clicks with her.

  9. Kompeito Kisses: "I'm in Love" by Moby
This song is perfect for this chapter. When the beat picks up towards the end, it fits when Tsuzuki and Anna kiss after so long. The song fits again when the song slows to the end as the chapter itself ends.

  10. Last Dance: "Last Dance" by the Cure
The song fits the chapter from start to finish. It's so sad yet rich and elegant at the same time. Even a romantic element is laced with it to seal the deal.

  11. Lets Go to Bed: "Let's Go to Bed" by Ivy
A cover of the band above, the beat and Dominique's vocals add a playful and flirty feel appropriate for this chapter.

  12. Lotte Ghana: "Age of Consent" by New Order
        New Order too delivers
playful and flirty feel appropriate for the chapter. Up until Rihoko walks in and ruins everything.

  13. While Were in Love: "While We're in Love" by Ivy
Ivy gives us a sad and soft tone that matches the chapter. You can almost see Anna's doubts along with the vocals and music. This song nearly makes me cry now that I think about it.

  14. Morning Rain: "Let's Stay Inside" by Ivy
The tone of the song fits in with the foreplay and surreal make-out session in the water. It even touches up the ending.

  15. Nice Day Out: "Get Together" by Madonna
Madonna gives us a playful and sugary sweet atmosphere that works with this chapter.

  16. Innocence in the Sun: "Shiki No Uta" by Minmi
Who knew the ending theme of Samurai Champloo would fit in with a Yami no Matsuei fic? But, I made it work somehow. Go me! Go me! Go me!

  17. Experience in the Moon: "Ashita No Te" by Noto Mamiko
I fell in love with this song the first time I watched the Witchblade anime. Gives an innocent and sweet flavor to this chapter, yes?

  18. Four in the Morning Doubts: "Four in the Morning" by Ivy
        Can't get enough of Ivy!

  19. Puppy Crush: "Think I'm in Love" by Beck
The sound adds a weird and sunny tone that makes me think of summer in the 60's.

  20. Lotus Pillow: "Damaged People" by Depeche Mode
Dave Gahan's voice is so sexy! It reminds me of a seductive vampire. Plus, the song describes the whole theme of the story.

  21. Red Lotus Noir: "Hyenas" by Moby
This song's dark and sexy tone plays up the noir ambience that was I aiming for in this chapter. The French in the song is just a slam-drunk.

  22. My Moon, My Man: "My Moon, My Man" by Feist
This song sounds so pure yet sexy at the same time. It plays into the theme of a woman being overpowered with love. Plus, the ending prepares us for the next chapter.

  23. Wagashi: "Ocean City Girl" by Ivy
Yes, more Ivy. This one adds a sad, yet sweet tone to the chapter.

  24. His Confession: "Young Folks" by Peter Bjorn and John
Ah, the song that refuses to die. Look up "Young Folks" on Wiki. This song has been used for different telly programs, many times.

  25. Hi-Chew: "Disappointed" by Ivy
Yes, more Ivy, again. This song plays into Anna and Tsuzuki's worries and doubts about what to do next. Mostly from Anna's POV.

  26. Wet Reeds: "Point of View" by Ivy
I based this song's usage from Anna's POV again, plus the soft tone plays up the mood rather well.

  27. Trust: "Question of Lust" by Depeche Mode
Again, Depeche Mode plays into the whole theme of the story. This song is perfect for both Tsuzuki and Anna.

  28. She Thought of Rain: "He Thought of Cars" by Blur
The hazy and sad sound of this song is a nice touch to Anna's thoughts as she looks at the rain outside and waits for the sun to rise.

  29. Ramune: "1000 no Kubota" by Kumi Koda
My best friend introduced me to this song years ago. I have loved it ever since.

  30. Plum Blossoms: "Something About Us" by Daft Punk
This song is a beauty in itself. The sound is sexy and sad at the same time. Mmmm.... The lyrics are sad and romantic. Perfect for a couple who hasn't heard the good news yet.

  31. Wild Irises: "Aozora" by Yuria
I loved this song when I saw the series, Green Green. It's a shame that the fansubs didn't include this song more often for the endings. It plays into the surreal lemon.

  32. Sakuramochi: "Destiny" by Zero 7
The sound closes out the story rather nicely. I am still getting used to Zero 7. I'll have to find more songs by them later.
