Trapped in the Space
Back in the
circle, Natalia felt something warm creeping in her chest.
“Something
wrong?” Izumi asked. The lead angel shook her head.
“Nothing. Just
keep going,” she said. All of the angels were looking at her.
“It’s nothing,”
Natalia insisted. “We have to focus on this barrier. Time is running out.”
“Yes, we know,”
Himeko said. The lead angel gulped down the sensation. She closed her eyes and
took it in. What is this?
It’s only me.
Natalia didn’t
dare to move. Her eyes trailed behind her. She couldn’t see them but this
presence felt so familiar. Natalia pressed her lips together.
What are you
doing here?
Something called
me to you.
You can’t be
here.
I know. There
was a storm coming and I got pulled here.
Natalia kept her
focus on the circle she stood in. She took in a breath and pushed more of her
energy. The presence didn’t finish talking.
I think I have
something to tell you.
What is it?
I… I… I don’t
remember it. I’m sorry.
What?
I’m so sorry.
Um… Please! Let me help you!
No, wait--! Ah!
Natalia’s body went stiff. Her eyes went back into her head as her mouth
slightly opened. Her spine felt cold.
“Natalia?” Liz
asked. The circle got a boost before anyone else could look up or say a word.
Yoshiko tried to hold down so much power.
“W-What is
this?” she asked. Natalia couldn’t answer. Something else had taken over and now
she was starting to see more than the room that she was in.
She could see that little girl on the playground with her son.
