Uneven Threads

They all could feel the change in the room. Time was running out, but they already knew that. This was something else. A tingling feeling prickled down Ben’s spine.

“Are one of you doing this?” he asked.

“Shut it!” Natalia snapped. She growled as Ben tried to talk again. It wasn’t hard for him to take a hint. He caught Kele looking at him out of the corner of his eye. He seemed to say that he felt it too.

How long have they kept this up? The angels didn’t let up on their circle. Half of them started to look tired, but that didn’t stop them. Even Baby Doll managed to remain sitting up. The others were still out cold. No. There were a couple of people waking up.

Ben looked down at his feet. Kris was now staring at him. She still looked a little bit out of it. The young woman still couldn’t move. Ben couldn’t go to her either.

What is happening to us?

He didn’t have an answer for her. He couldn’t understand what was going on around them either. Ben just knew it had to be done.

Meanwhile, the angels started to feel it something.

“I see them!” Yoshiko said. Her chest started to glow. A warm sensation rose in the angels’ bodies. Here it was.

“Brace yourselves!” Natalia shouted. “It’s coming!” She let out a loud gasp. One by one, the angels felt the warmth soaring through their bodies. It wasn’t just them either.

What’s happening?

Kris’s limbs felt so light. She still couldn’t move. She opened her eyes wide. Ben could feel it too. His friend looked like she was about to speak, but her mouth was fixed shut.

“It’s okay,” Ben said. “We’re going to be fine.” He didn’t sound too sure of that himself. The man found himself unable to move. Somehow, he wasn’t afraid. Kris rested in place.

Who else was awake?

Max turned his head. He too couldn’t move. No, that wasn’t right. He was already back in consciousness. He was just not moving an inch. Ben looked down at his feet. Then who was waking up?

Taro opened his eyes. However, they looked so empty. Ben’s face dropped. What was wrong with him? He wanted to run to the boy and try to help him.

“Don’t!” Natalia shouted. Ben stared at her back. She was saying something, but her voice seemed to fade into the haze. He was about to ask, but he couldn’t open his mouth. The man didn’t feel any need to panic. All he could do was sit there and trust the process.

But would this be enough? Only one way to see…

All of the pieces were shaping together for the end. Everyone was trying to get back together. The angels, Tokyo ’87, and the children were helping Masayuki and Baby Doll to come back to them. On the other side, Botan was there to help Baby’s soul shard go home. In the future, Miike and his class were doing the best they could to aid in this rescue mission without any clear knowledge of what was going on.

However, there were forces rushing toward them to cause everything to fall apart. He’s already started on his plans. The hounds were already sniffing them out. All the while with time burning away faster.

Let’s see who will get there first.
