Chapter XXV:
She was waiting
for me at home. I should’ve known given how she followed me around. She couldn’t
come into the church. So she waited for me here. I made it to my bed and there
she was. I froze when I saw her. She broke into a huge smile.
“Welcome home,”
she said. My eyes grew big. I slowly backed away to the door.
“What are you
doing here?” I asked. She broke into a giggle.
“I came to see
you,” she said.
“But why?” I
asked. “What do you want from me?” She held out her hand. I tried to back away
but I couldn’t move. She glided over to me as if she was floating. Her face came
within inches of mine. Her lips curved into a hungry smile. She leaned and
kissed me on the lips. I felt like I had been electrocuted. Every being in my
fiber told me to push her off. Why couldn’t I move? She put her arms around my
neck. She started to speak into my head.
I will show you
my world.
Black light
spilled everywhere.
When I opened my
eyes, I could see a dying light as far as the eye could. The air felt cold but
strangely I wasn’t. The sky was filled with little holes of gray. Judging by
what I was hearing, I was standing near an ocean of some sort. I turned my head.
I was standing near the ocean.
“Hello?” I
asked. The only response I got was an echo of my voice. Chills ran down my skin.
Giggling filled the air. I whipped my head around. She stood inches away from
me. I shook my head, backing away.
“I don’t know
what you want from me,” I said. “I don’t even know who you are.” Her lips curved
into that damned hungry smile. Please stop looking at me like that. Why can’t
you leave me alone? The wind gently tossed around her dark hair.
“I am called
Luna,” she said. She pointed and me said my name.
“But I don’t
know what you want from me,” I said. She came within inches in front of me. I
couldn’t escape her gaze.
“I don’t want
anything from you,” she said. She put her arms around my neck. “But I will be
taking you.”
“Taking…
me?” I asked. Luna giggled.
“That’s right,”
she said. “You will be mine.” She leaned in close to my ear.
“But not right
now,” she said in a low voice.
“What do you
mean?” I asked. She gently tapped me on the nose. That smile of hers made me
want to vomit.
“When the time
comes, you will be mine,” Luna said. She leaned in and kissed me again.
-----------
When I opened my
eyes again, I was back in my room. I was also alone. I put my fingers to my
lips. What was that just now? Was I losing my mind? Did she do this? What did
she mean that she was going to take me? Where was she going to take me? The move
I thought about it, the more I began to fear for my soul.
I turned my head when I heard a knock on my door.
