Calming Adrift
-Masayuki-
It’s so peaceful
in here. I closed my eyes. Mmm. But I can’t stay here. Honestly, I don’t know
where I am now. I can’t even see any threads. Did I take a wrong turn somewhere?
It didn’t feel like it. Maybe I did something wrong. I don’t think I did.
I opened my eyes
and looked around. There’s nothing but white here. Where am I supposed to go? I
looked above me.
Ah.
Everything is
going to be fine. We’re going to get out of this. I just need to trust and
believe. I held out my arms. It all
started to feel light around me. I started floating upward. I think someone was
trying to call me but I could barely hear them. Maybe this place could lead me
where I need to go. But part of me wants to stay.
You can’t stay
here.
I know. I think
she hid me here from there.
Who was that
talking to me now? Was that even my voice? It didn’t sound like it. But somehow,
I wasn’t scared. I might have been in danger but I wouldn’t have cared. This
place…
Okay, listen to
me. You have gone off course. I am going to help you get back.
What?
Take my hand.
Before I could
speak, I felt something grab onto me and pull me upward. At this point, I felt
numb all over. Could this be a trap? Or could I really be off-course? I didn’t
really care anymore. My thoughts vanished as I was rising higher and higher.
Maybe I could come back here someday. That would be nice.
I suddenly
vanished into thin air.

When I opened my
eyes again, I found myself standing outside a gate to someone’s yard. I looked
around, confused. Huh? Where… am I?
I turned my head when I heard the gate open.
