Chapter Thirty-One: Erotism of Julia and Her Strange World:
Wallace felt like he was going high. What was in that drink? But it was good.
The country boy looked down at the glass.
“What is in this punch?” he asked. Wallace swirled the glass around in his hand.
Julia looked at the brightly colored liquid inside.
“Oh, that’s good,” she said. Wallace looked at the punch in his hand.
“It’s kind of sweet,” he said.
“Do you like it?” Julie asked. Wallace shrugged.
“I don’t know,” he said. The country boy took another drink. The sweetness
washed over his tongue. His cheeks felt flushed. Julia put her hand on his. The
country boy whipped his head around. She gave him a little smile.
“You okay?” she asked. Wallace gulped.
“Yeah,” he said. He took another drink. What exactly was in this drink? The
country boy started to feel a little bit light headed. Julia nudged him in the
side. He glanced over at her.
“Care to dance with me?” she asked. The country boy smiled.
“Sure,” he said. Julia pulled him onto the dance floor. Wallace didn’t have time
to react. The music changed to a live Latin beat. Julia began dancing around to
the music. Wallace had to admit that she looked so beautiful. People were
staring at them from their tables. Somehow, the country boy didn’t care. Julia
looked more natural with her dancing. Wallace on the other hand…
“Come on!” Julia said. “Look you so stiff! Loosen up a bit!” She playfully hit
him on the arm.
“Ow,” Wallace whispered. Julia threw back her head and danced. The country boy
looked like he was being shocked with a cattle prod. He looked around with a
nervous look on his face. What was he doing here? Julia seemed to be in another
world that be could never understand. What did she mean by he was “one of her
favorite people”? Did she understand what he was talking? He had been following
her up to this point. Wallace came to the School of Visual Arts. He joined the
drama club. He became an extra in a play. Now, he came out here to the Red
Corner with Julia. Now that he thought about it, he had just been following
Julia. Outside of attraction, he didn’t know why he was doing all of this. He
didn’t know why he followed her out to the club. It was a good idea at the time.
But now…
Julia moved in closer and threw her arms around his neck. She grinned as she
looked into his eyes. Wallace’s face turned bright red.
Wow… She’s so close…
It donned on him that she just said something.
“What did you say?” he asked. Julia leaned in close to his ear. His heart jumped
into his throat.
“Take me back to your place.”
Wallace’s face turned bright red. “Are you serious?”
Julia raised her eyebrow. “Is that going to be problem?”
He quickly shook his head. His crush giggled and kissed him on the cheek.
Wallace gave her a blank stare with big eyes. Julia pulled away from him.
“But not right now,” she said. The country boy snapped out of it as she said
that.
“Huh?” he asked. Julia gave him a little wink.
“I want to finish my drink first,” she said. The actress walked back over to the bar. Wallace tilted his head as he watched her. What just happened? Did she really want to go to his place? What was going on here? Wallace could feel his head spinning. The country boy rubbed his forehead. He followed Julia back over to the bar. What the hell was in that punch?
