The Dark City

Dateline: Mitchell decided to go to Olympia’s temple on Flame Mountain so he could bring the desert people rain. And he succeeds.

“Mitchell.” Cameron said to me. “Yes, Yes what?” I asked. “Look.” said she. I walked over to an old wooden signpost. Another missing child poster was up. This time a little girl with rainbow ponytails was missing. “This is the eighteenth poster this week.” Cameron said. “I see.” I said. “Think there’s a connection?” she asked me. “Could be.” I said. Then I came up with yet another idea. “Let’s go fin these kids.” I said. “But Mitch we don’t know where to look!” Cameron replied. “We’ll try.” said I to her. “All right.” said she. Then we went out on our mission.

According some witnesses we talked to, the children would disappear around nightfall but they didn’t know where though. “This is getting us nowhere!” Cameron wailed. “We’ll keeping looking.” I said serenely.

Our breakthrough came when we saw an old farmer in his field and asked him. “Them missin’ children have gone to da dark city.” he answered. Cameron gasped. “That’s the city of devils! Why would they want to go there?!?” she asked. “Do ya think I’d know?!?” the farmer shouted. “Sorry.” she said. “Where is the Dark city?” I asked. “It’s just down this road. But be careful.” the farmer answered. “Right.” I said. I turned to my companion. “Well, let’s go!” I said to her. Cameron just nodded and we walked down the road.

As we walked on, we noticed it was getting darker. “Mitchell, what time is it?” Cameron asked. I took out Megan’s watch and looked at it. “It’s three o’clock in the afternoon.” I answered. Then we realized: “We’re almost to the dark city!” Cameron exclaimed. “Well, let’s go!” I yelled. Then I grabbed her by the hand and ran to the dark city.

Silence. That was all we heard. Pure silence. It was dark and abandoned as well. “Well,” I said. “This is it Cameron.” She just nodded. We processed on quietly

After hours of searching, Cameron and I found the kids in an abandoned bomb shelter. There must have been thousands of them. They dazed and lost. “Come on. Your parents are worried sick about you!” I yelled. “No.” they said. “Why?!?” I asked in shock. They didn’t answer me. Cameron was doing research. “I found it.” she said. “Found what?” I asked her. “They’re all on the lotus plant!” Cameron yelled. “Huh?” I asked. Then I saw what she meant. The children were drugged. No wonder they were so dazed! One of the boys was eating a piece of the lotus. I ran over to him and tried to take it out of his hand. He put up a good fight but I won. I crushed the lotus plant in my hand and dropped it. “What can we do?” I asked Cameron. “We must destroy the lotus plants.” she said. “Well, where is it?” I asked. “All around the city.” she answered. “Let’s go!” I yelled in anger. Then we left to start on our search for the lotus plants.

We came across a huge section of lotus plants. I pulled my razor gun and fired at it. For once, my gun failed me. “It’s not working!” I said. Cameron tried her flower disk. It cut the plants but they grew back bigger and greener. Cameron shook her head. “Well, let’s use our other weapons.” I said. “Right said Cameron. We tried everything until our Gold spike shooters sucked them dry. At last, success! We grinned and began shooting the entire lotus in the city.

Once we killed the lotus, Cameron and I went back to the bomb shelter. We had to wait for three days for the kids to snap back into reality. Once they came back, they were scared, confused, and wanted to go home. Without a single second to waste, Cameron and I took them home. After our adventure, Cameron and I hit the road.
