Time Odyssey
“How are your friends doing?” Ronnie asked.
“Good,” Polly said. “Everyone is doing good.” She nodded over her breakfast. It
was rare to eat with her family like this. Honestly, it felt so nice.
“So what is everyone doing today?” Lily asked. Ronnie took a moment to think.
“Not much,” he said.
“I have to go to work,” Steven Moon said.
“Same,” his wife, Leslie, said.
“What are you doing today?” Ronnie asked. Lily leaned back in her chair.
“I’m just going to be around town, doing this and that,” she said. The old biddy
took another bite of her porridge. Her family weren’t surprised. That was their
sister/aunt. Even after retiring from teaching, she was still finding ways to
work around the town. She could never keep still.
“I don’t know how you do it,” her niece said. Lily just sat back in her chair
and smiled.

It’s another day at the Sunny Plum. The morning rush had just come to an end.
Time to get ready for the lunch crowd. (Heh, it felt strange to say that. This
wasn’t a big town. Not many people were around during the summer. Still, Annie
kept on working.)
“Dustin!” Annie shouted. Her nephew jerked his head upward.
“Huh? What?” he asked. The big boy turned his head. Annie stood with her hands
on her hips.
“Did you clean the hot chocolate machine?” she asked.
“Huh?” he asked.
“The hot chocolate machine. Did you clean it?” she asked. It took a moment for
the words to sink in.
“Huh? Oh…” he said. Annie sighed as she rubbed her forehead.
“I told you to clean out the hot chocolate machine,” she said. “Get on it right
now. We’re going to have more customers in a few minutes!”
“Yes, auntie!” Crusher said as he jumped to his feet. Annie shook her head as
she watched him jump right back to work. How many years have they been doing
this? Something was going to have to change in order to lighten up this headache
or else she was going to go crazy.

Meanwhile, Lily decided to check in on her friends. Her first stop? Why none
other than Lewis on her farm. It was going to take a while for her to get there.
So, Lily decided to go into town before stopping by to go get Muriel and Clyde
to see how their friend was doing. Maybe pick up a little treat while she was at
it.
However, she hadn’t had bothered for there was a knock on her door.
“Who is that, auntie?” Leslie asked.
“I don’t know,” the old biddy said. She got up from the table and walked over to
the front door. Lily looked even more confused when looked out the peep hole.
What were her friends standing outside her door?
“What are you lot here?” she asked. Lewis jumped forward and grabbed her
tightly.
“I can’t take it anymore!” she shouted. “I’m about to lose my mind!” Lily looked
even more confused as she looked at the other two old biddies. Clyde and Muriel
couldn’t give her a response as they shook their heads. Well, Lily had her
answer on how the farmer old biddy was doing.
