Chapter Ten:
Rome:
Diamond stands
outside of her door’s apartment. “Good morning! Did you sleep well? Good! You’ll
never guess where we’re going today!” She claps her hands together and grins.
“We are going to
Rome. That’s right! We are going to the capital! I just had to save it for last.
It will be so worth it. This two is going to be split into two parts. That’s
right, we’re going to spend the night in Rome. I hope you have your things
packed up. Did you do that? Good. The taxi is here. Let’s get going.” She leads
the guest to the taxi.
“This is going
to be great! There is so much to do in Rome! I can’t simply cram it all in one
day. First, we’re going to do the little tour. What? Are you surprised? I can do
educational tours too. This is the city that’s worth it. Sure you’ve seen it in
the pictures. But it’s much better in real life. Feel free to take all of the
pictures you want. No one will judge you.” She climbs into the cab.
“We’re going to
hold off on the shopping for today. That’s going to be for tomorrow. I will
cover your meals.” She looks around for a bit.
“Oh. I have a
big favor to ask of you. I promised a friend that we would meet up today. Do you
mind if she joins us? She’s doll. One of the nicest girls you will ever meet.
Please? Please can she come with us?” She grins like a wild cat.
“Great! You’re
going to love her. She knows Rome like the back of her hands. My friend will
make this trip that much better. I promise!” She puts her arm around the guest’s
shoulders.
“We have to get
going before the crowds get there. It wouldn’t be right to leave my friend
waiting. Don’t worry. I will cover both of you.” She smiles to herself.
“The next three days are going to be epic!” She giggles as the taxi pulls away.
