How Did it End Up Like This?
-Ben-
The whole thing
has gone upside down. Where did it all go crazy? I’ve asked myself that question
every day. (I doubt any of us will get a straight answer.) I don’t think we’ll
ever see an end to this either.
I’ve given up on
trying to find the exact spot that everything turned upside down. I don’t even
think that I remember anymore. It hurt my brain to think about it. For now, all
we can do it just go along for the ride.
But Jules says
that it didn’t have to be that way.
I cocked my head
to the side. “What can we do about it?” She shrugged and shook her head. What
could we do? We were just people. Even Taro and his friends could only do so
much. This might be more than all of us.
Still, we carry
on.
Why is that?
Humans are weird creatures. We just don’t know when to give up. We don’t take no
for an answer. If we did, I don’t think we would’ve lived so long. So where did
that leave us? We’re all stuck sitting in place. Well, not all us. Max and I
were the only ones who can move. Everyone else human can’t move. Masayuki was on
the floor in suspended animation as they called. The angels have been trying to
get Baby and Masayuki back. Nothing’s changed seen then.
How long has
this storm been going on around this apartment? Nancy and Haru didn’t know what
we were talking about. She told us that the weather was nice outside. The angels
freaked out when they heard that. And that led to where we are now. (Well, there
were a few other things, but I am getting ahead of myself here.)
And again, where
does that leave us?
From what I
heard, we’re running out of time. I don’t know how much longer we could hang on
like this. Is this end for us? Are we going to die?
No. We couldn’t
give up yet. This wasn’t the end. The angels wouldn’t let us quit anyway. So,
here we were along for the ride with no end in sight. We just have to see how
this going to play out.
Hm? Did somebody call me?
