I Know the Way
“Here is what
you need to do.”
Miike stood to
his feet. He’s heard this before. His father might have mentioned something like
this. Or was it someone else. Either way, it needed to be done. The boy pressed
his lips together. The child held out her hand.
“Take my hand.”
The boy reached
out as if under a trance. He began to see different lines and connections
forming in his head. They all came together so quickly that he could barely keep
up.
Relax. I’m only
trying to help you.
Miike took
another breath as the pieces fixed themselves together at a faster rate. The
child’s body slowly began to vanish. In one blink, she was gone. Miike lowered
his hand. His friend came up behind him.
“Are you okay?”
she asked. The boy turned in time to see her putting her hand on his shoulder.
“Don’t!” he
shouted. But it was too late. Her body tensed up as she gasped. She too could
see the connections in her eyes. It wouldn’t be long before the other students
noticed and joined in. Once they were connected, Masayuki would find the way and
get the piece of Baby’s soul back. They would all lead them back.
The tracks were
almost set and ready to go.
-----------
Masayuki opened
his eyes to see thousands upon thousands of chords in front of him. If he could
cover his mouth as he gasped, he would’ve. The boy already knew what this was.
This is…
Get in!
Huh?
His bodiless form was jolted forward with a push from the back. The boy screamed
as he was sucked into the chords. This would be the way to finding Baby’s soul
fragment faster.
-Meanwhile on
the Outside-
Hm? Did somebody
call me?
Ben’s eyes
shifted to the left. An invisible force grabbed him by the shoulder. Ben’s body
went stiff as he too could see the chords in front of him. He wasn’t the only
one this invisible hand touched. More and more connections were being made
faster than anyone could keep up.
Once everything was set up and connected, the rescue mission could truly begin.
