Chapter Three:
Your First Day at School:
Congrats, you
are starting a new school. It is not going to be easy. There will no recess or
nap time. To paraphrase Sound Garden, “Times are gone for easy days.” Boy, are
they ever! Where to had to work on 2+2, you now have to deal with math problems
with letters in them. You don’t get to do fun science projects for the science
fair anymore either. No more coloring time. Snack time? You are so funny! School
is no longer going to be any fun. It’s going to be boring for you.
You won’t have
just the one teacher anymore. You will have like four teachers to deal with.
(Like you need four times the homework.) They will all be teaching you different
things. You will have to change classes days. There are two methods, depending
on what part of the world you live in. In America, you have to physically get up
and walk to the next classroom. In Japan, the teacher comes to you. I actually
like that. Why don’t they do that in American?
Then there is
the homework. Oh lord. You will think that you want to die with how much you
have to work with. Some of you can breeze through it. Others will be like the
devil fruit users in the middle of the ocean from
One Piece. I can’t make it much
clearer than that. In the case of the latter, you have two options. Face the
wrath of your parents and pray for a quicker death. Or get help from a tutor.
Either way, you still have the issue of your grades.
Everyone expects you to get good grades and graduate. Otherwise, you will fail and have to repeat your grade. You don’t want that do you? Neither do I. We’ve only covered the basics of school. There are cliques, the groups, the positions, and the status. To adults, it means nothing. To you, it is life or death. (It really isn’t, but I will humor you here.) How are you going to survive all of this? Well, it’s a good thing you have me here with you. Relax, I will get you through this. Wish me luck. We are all going to need it.
