It just keeps
getting worse.
“Where are we?”
I asked.
“I don’t know!”
Cook said.
“Seriously?” I
asked, frowning. How long have we been running. We need a plan.
“Stay together!”
Omi shouted. The footsteps grew faster. They just won’t quit! Where do they keep
coming from?
“Up ahead!” Omi
yelled. There was a door. Was it locked? Only one way to see.
Omi ran ahead.
Cook and I ran after him. We didn’t look back. Just get to that door. Get to the
door!
Omi grabbed the
knob. He opened the door. Yes! It was open! Omi, Cook, and I ran through the
door.

It’s so dark in
here. When did these halls get so small?
“I can’t
breathe,” I said.
“Shhh,” Cook
whispered. Now, we were walking. I still had questions. Where were we? Where
were we going now? What about our phones? I don’t like this.
Wait… What is
that? I strained my ears for a listen. Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap.
“Guys,” I
whispered.
“Shhh,” Omi
whispered back.
“Do you hear
that?” I asked. Cook and Omi took a listen.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
Tap.
“What is that?”
Omi asked. We couldn’t answer. Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap. It sounded like… I looked up.
Oh…
“Guys…” I said.
The walls started shaking around us. My ears were ringing.
“Gah!” I shouted as I rubbed my ears. I could barely hear myself screaming. My legs felt like jelly. Someone grabbed me on the arm. I started blacking out as I was dragged away.
