Season 3 - Johto League Journey

105. The Pokémon Water War

Our heroes try, but are unable to extinguish a dangerous fire, until the local fire brigade-a trained team of Wartortle-arrives and squelches the flames. As a second fire rages, however, Team Rocket abducts the Wartortle, leaving Ash, Misty, Brock, and their Pokémon to somehow save the nearby town from a fiery end.

106. Pokémon Food Fight

When a defective Pokéball prevents Ash from recalling his Snorlax, he and his young friends must somehow heft this Pokémon's slumbering mass over a mountain pass to the nearest Pokémon Center.

107. Pokémon Double Trouble

Ash is anxious to face the gym leader who holds the final badge of the Orange League until he learns that this trainer is none other than the kindly townswoman who just helped him rally against a Team Rocket sneak attack.

108. The Whacky Watcher

Ash and friends are no sooner recruited as assistants in an elaborate project researching Magikarp evolution than Team Rocket surfaces, stealing the scene and the object of the young trainers' research.

109. The Stun Spore Detour

When a chance encounter with a Vileplume leaves Ash and Tracey incapacitated, Misty sets about finding a local weed that will restore their health. Meanwhile James and Meowth of Team Rocket lurk nearby, planning to steal the herb for their own use.

110. Hello, Pummelo

After winning his way to the final competition for the Orange League Winner's Trophy, victory seems a long shot for Ash when the gym leader deploys a powerful Gengar that topples one of Ash's Pokémon after another.

111. Enter The Dragonite

As if a gym battle with a Dragonite isn't challenge enough for one day, Team Rocket secretly surveys the weakened state of Ash's battling Pokémon and plots to turn the situation to their advantage.

112. Viva Las Lapras

It's piracy on the open seas and Ash and friends must rescue a local school of Lapras from would-be poachers, but how can they be of help when the Lapras, conditioned to fear humans, shun the young trainers?

113. The Underground Round-Up

A failed experiment has left the next town in Ash's path a virtual wasteland, overrun with Electrode. Ash and friends lend a hand in ongoing humane efforts at extricating these explosive Pokémon, until Team Rocket arrives with designs to detonate all of the Electrode.

114. A Tents Situation

Ash returns home and is greeted by a pleasant surprise-the face of an old friend-and one not so pleasant-Team Rocket has besieged the famous Oak Laboratory and captured all of the Pokéballs being held there.

115. The Rivalry Revival

An errand of Professor Oak's sets Ash on the road once again, but first he must face his old hometown rival, Gary, in a Pokémon Battle.

116. Don't Touch That 'Dile

Ash begins his journey in Johto, a region largely unexplored and populated with Pokémon entirely new to him and his friends.

117. The Double Trouble Header

In Pokémon battle, Ash soundly defeats an ambitious young trainer, who runs away dejectedly. Before Ash can comfort the novice, though, Team Rocket steps in, convincing the lad that Ash won by foul play, and recruiting the boy to their cause.

118. A Sappy Ending

Ash and friends discover a forest where Pinsir invaders are causing heavy deforestation. Investigation reveals the root of the problem: Team Rocket is carelessly harvesting sap from a nearby wood, thereby upsetting the balance of nature.

119. Roll On, Pokémon

Ash and friends are fortunate enough to stumble into a small valley where Donphan are used to harvest precious stones. Not so fortunate are the valley's residents; Team Rocket is on the heels of the young trainers and already hatching a plan to steal the stones for themselves.

120. Illusion Confusion

Who would be foolish enough to brave a thick forest in the dead of night without a Hoothoot guide? Certainly not Ash Ketchum… but when he settles for the only guide available-an inept Hoothoot with no sense of direction-maybe he would have been better off alone?

121. Flower Power

Our heroes must help prepare an insecure Bellossom dance troupe for their upcoming exhibition-a chore that's further complicated when Team Rocket attempts to steal the show with their raucous act.

122. Spinarak Attack

Ash and friends reach a new town and hear of a series of apparent copycat crimes mimicking those performed by a legendary master thief. The town rests its hopes in these young trainers to somehow stop this criminal duo and their Meowth accomplice.

123. Snubbull Snobbery

With pet food prepared by a French chef, rooms of WalkMaster exercise equipment, and closets stocked with the latest in Pokémon fashion, life couldn't be much better for a Palm Hills Snubble. When Team Rocket sets their sights on the upper crust, though, this pampered Pokémon will have to find a stronger side or lose its home.

124. Little Big Horn

Brock saves a lost and frightened Stantler fawn and carefully nurses it back to health. Little does he know, as he then releases the Stantler, that Team Rocket lies hidden nearby, waiting to capture the defenseless fawn.

125. Chikorita Rescue

Ash encounters a wild Chikorita and engages it in battle, thinking to add it to his team, but as Team Rocket watches the battle from afar, they decide the Chikorita would be better suited to Team Rocket.

126. Once in a Blue Moon

Professor Oak's errand-to deliver the mysterious GS Ball to a Pokéball expert-is interrupted when a Quagsire with a penchant for spherical objects steals the GS ball for use in a nocturnal ritual.

127. The Whistle Stop

When Team Rocket attacks, a friendly young trainer and her flock of Ledyba come to the aid of our heroes. With a bolt of electricity, Pikachu makes quick work of Team Rocket, but they look to capture a prize anyway: the same bolt from Pikachu sent the good Samaritan's Ledyba flying as well, and right into their clutches.

128. Ignorance is Blissey

Team Rocket can't believe their luck when the Blissey employed in a local Pokémon Center willingly turns over to them the entire center's food stores. As they abscond, however, an unexpected pang-be it the voice of conscience or simply villainous shame at having taken what was freely offered-tells them that they must return the food, but somehow without giving away the shameful secret of their innocence.

129. A Bout with Sprout

Our heroes are recruited as guest instructors at a youth Pokémon Academy, where Ash does his best as an educator until one of his pupils takes an overly ardent interest in Ash's Pokémon, finally kidnapping Pikachu and heading for the hills.

130. Fighting Flyer with Fire

With Pikachu's help, Ash is confident that winning the Zephyr badge will be a breeze, but when the gym leader's high-level Pokémon turn the tables on the textbook 'Electric over Flying' advantage, Ash will have to use more than raw power to emerge victorious.

131. For Crying Out Loud

Cute and cuddly is one thing, but this fragile bawl baby of a Marill is too much even for Misty. When all Misty's attempts to toughen up the little Pokémon fall short, Team Rocket takes her by surprise. Misty is left with no help or hope in sight-if only that little Marill weren't such a pushover.

132. Tanks a Lot

Team Rocket's most recent super vehicle, the Arbotank, is their ticket to world domination-until Togepi and its newfound Sentret buddy climb inside and inadvertently initiate a cross-country joyride that wreaks unstoppable destruction on everything in their path.

133. Charizard's Burning Ambitions

When Ash hears of the Charicific Valley-'a short flight away'-he is sure a trip there would be just the thing to boost his Charizard's spirits. When they reach the valley, though, they find its dragon denizens anything but cordial. Judged weak, and denied entrance to the valley, Charizard is left more dejected than ever.

134. Grin to Win

The annual Sunflora contest is only a day away and yet our heroes' new friend and Sunflora trainer is unable to convince her star Pokémon to compete. Complicating things further, Team Rocket enters under pseudonyms, planning to win by whatever means are required.

135. Chikorita's Big Upset

A severe case of sibling rivalry between Pikachu and Chikorita calls for therapy sessions with Nurse Joy (schooled in Pokémon psychology at the Pokémon Institute). In such delicate matters, there's no such thing as an overnight cure, though-or is there? The following day, when Team Rocket attacks, Ash will need all his Pokémon to overcome their latest construct.

136. Foul Weather Friends

In their travels, our heroes chance upon a Hoppip-the fluffy 'Cottonweed' Pokémon that is able to catch passing winds and drift for miles through the sky. The trainer of this Pokémon, whom they meet soon after, uses it and several others of its kind to help her forecast the weather.

137. The Superhero Secret

The legendary Gligarman grows old and begins to bend under the weighty task of fighting crime. When Ash and friends wander into town, they bring with them a challenge that threatens to be Gligarman's last-Team Rocket.

138. Mild 'n Wooly

Team Rocket comes in sheep's clothing to relieve a kind Mareep-herd of her flock. Ash and friends are eager to help, but will first have to convince the Mareep trainer to have a little faith in herself.

139. Wired For Battle

When the most promising trainee at a Pokémon battle dojo abandons battle altogether, opting to gather information for his comprehensive Poké-database instead, it's up to Ash and friends to convince him that battling, and life for that matter, is more than just a matter of probability.

140. Good 'Quil Hunting

With Charizard gone and no fire Pokémon to call his own, Ash is overjoyed to come across a Cyndaquil in the wild. Before Ash captures the little Pokémon, though, he'll have to face another trainer with similar designs.

141. A Shadow Of A Drought

Ash carelessly makes enemies of the Slowpoke-worshipping residents of the latest town in his path, but sees a chance at redemption when Team Rocket arrives to capture each and every one of these revered Pokémon.

142. Going Apricorn

Ash delivers the mysterious GS Ball to a renowned Pokémon expert, but Team Rocket threatens the entire operation when they attempt to harvest the Apricorn resources essential to local Pokéball production.

143. Gettin' The Bugs Out

When Ash reaches the Hive Gym, he has just the Pokémon to challenge the gym leader's Bug Pokémon. But what's this? Cyndaquil, the Fire Pokémon can't get its burners going.

144. A Farfetch'd Tale

An inexperienced young trainer mistakenly scares off his own Farfetch'd. Ash and friends are happy to help, but will have to find it before Team Rocket, their stomachs as empty as their piggy bank, can get their hands on this savory Pokémon.

145. Tricks Of The Trade

At the Pokémon Swap Meet, our heroes befriend a young Pokémon trainer who's having difficulties finding a trading partner willing to accept his Wobbuffet. When Jessie inadvertently deposits her Pokéball across from his in the exchanger, this young trainer gets more than he had bargained for.

146. The Fire-Ring Squad

An unexpected Pokémon fire-fighting competition reunites our heroes with several old friends. The favorite for victory is Russell, from the Orange Islands, and his fire-fighting Team Wartortle. Ash and friends are even more surprised, however, to find Officer Jenny entering the competition with the one and only Squirtle Squad.

147. No Big Woop

By two different routes, our heroes and Team Rocket converge on a small mountain cottage. There Ash and friends, arriving first, meet a young girl who has used this ideal mountain location and its endless supply of fresh water to raise Wooper.

148. Tunnel Vision

Our heroes have always had a Hamlin-esque ability to draw various parties behind them, but on this day, their entourage is a too much to handle. As they approach a nearly impassable tunnel inhabited by Onix, they are followed not only by the imperturbable Team Rocket, but also their old tag-along Jigglypuff, and finally the Snubbull they liberated from riches shortly after beginning their Johto adventures.

149. Hour Of The Houndour

As our heroes stop to prepare a hearty traveler's lunch, an unseen observer makes off with Ash's backpack, leaving no evidence of the crime but one large footprint. Shortly thereafter, Team Rocket falls victim to the same thief, losing the ham they had themselves stolen from Nurse Joy.

150. The Totodile Duel

Stopping by a promising lake, Misty kindly offers to coach Ash and Brock in the finer points of Pokémon angling, but even with her help nothing seems to be biting. When a single Totodile finally does show itself, Ash and Misty are left fighting over who gets to keep it.

151. A Heated Match

At the local Pokémon Center, the trainer of an injured Pokémon warns Ash to avoid the nearby mountain plain where a "dangerous" trainer challenges all who pass. Rather than heeding the warning of course, Ash takes it as a challenge and sets out to find this formidable trainer. The trainer, being an attractive young woman, first gains Brock's attention, and ends up drawing him into a battle with her Skarmory.

152. Love, Totodile Style

Ash's Totodile learns the pains of first love when it falls for a passing Azumarill, but finds these feelings unrequited. The Azumarill belongs to the director of a local Pokémon circus, who relies on this and other Pokémon to draw an audience.

153. Fowl Play

Our heroes' travels take them through a deep forest where they discover a Pokémon roost where a middle-aged trainer is hiding out in hopes of catching the Noctowl with rare coloring that lives there. This Noctowl possesses powerful hypnotic abilities, which it uses to stop Ash's attempts at its capture, leaving a confused Ash speaking with stones.

154. Forest Grumps

A net falls from the clear blue sky and all our heroes' Pokémon are lifted into the air. Team Rocket has decided to make not only an early start, but also an unusually ambitious one. No sooner do they attempt to make their getaway, though, than an unexplained beam of energy from the nearby forest blasts them out of the sky.

155. The Psychic Sidekicks

A roadside sign warns our heroes that they are approaching Ghost Pokémon territory. Knowing that Psychic Pokémon hold an advantage against Ghosts, Misty calls on Psyduck to protect them. Fearing the Ghost Pokémon itself, Psyduck turns out to be little help, though. Even as Ash and friends are wondering how to strengthen the Psychic arm of their Pokémon team, a young trainer emerges from the nearby bushes and informs them of a local town where large numbers of Psychic Pokémon are trained.

156. The Fortune Hunters

Pokémon fortune telling is the talk of the latest town Ash and friends pass through. This fortune-telling system categorizes people into a number of predetermined Pokémon types, which then reveal character traits and even the fate of these people.
