Aneko went into a dying girl’s mind and almost didn’t it out. Chapter
one: A Gift From The Enemy
In the
flames of the unknown, a young demon girl named Yuri studied our friends
through envy. “Look at them, all happy and perky! Hmmph! It makes me want
to puke!” she hissed. Then she came up with a great idea. “Let’s see if
they like it this way!” Yuri hissed. Then she picked up a crystal, sprinkled
some nightmare dust on it, and hurled it towards Earth.

Melody was
walking home from flower picking when she heard someone say “momma” to
her. “Huh?” she asked as turned around. She looked and saw a little girl
with fair skin, long brown hair, and crystal blue eyes standing about three
to four inches behind her. “Who are you?” Melody asked the little girl.
“It’s me momma, Sunshine.” the little girl answered. “But, I don’t remember
having a daughter named Sunshine.” said Melody. Sunshine began to cry.
“ *Sweat drop* Uhhh…. Don’t cry! Uhh…it’s okay.” said Melody as she started
to back away. Then Melody started running away. Sunshine followed her home
in secret.
***
“Davis!!!
Davis!!! There’s a weird girl following me and……” Melody yelled as she
came into the house. She stopped when she Sunshine sitting at the table
with Davis, Beck, and Katie. “What is she doing here?” the future wife
asked in distress. “Aw Mel, be nice. She’s our daughter and besides, she
looked lost.” Davis explained. “He still hasn’t learned!” she thought.
“But how can you be sure.” she whispered to him. “Because, if you haven’t
noticed, Sunshine looks almost like Beck.” Davis whispered back. Melody
glanced at Sunshine, then at Beck, then at Sunshine again. “He does have
a point, but I still don’t trust her!” she thought. “Stop whispering! Aren’t
you going to sit and eat with us?” Veemon asked her. “ *Sigh* All right.” Melody
answered. Then she sat down and ate with her family.
***
“And here’s
your room.” Davis said as he showed Sunshine to the future nursery. “Where’s
my bed?” she asked sounding all confused as she looked around the room.
“Here, let me fix that for you.” he said. Then Davis walked over to one
of the walls and pulled down the cot by its cord. Sunshine just stared
at the cot. Davis flopped down onto it looked up at Sunshine. “Come up
here.” said he. Sunshine walked over to the cot and flopped down with him.
“So, how does it feel?” Davis asked the girl. “Really soft.” she answered.
“Well, that’s great. My sister slept on this once and she said that she
slept like a baby on it.” Davis clarified. “I hope I can say the same.”
the little girl thought. Sunshine’s problem was she had a lot of nightmares.
But she didn’t tell Davis about her problem.
***
“O-Yasumi-Nasai,
Daddy.” said Sunshine. “Sweet dreams, dear.” Davis said back. Then he shut
the door. “That’s what I was afraid of…” thought she. Then she went
to sleep.
***
A few minutes
later, Davis heard a small knock on his door. He grumbled as he got out
of bed and opened the door. Davis looked down and saw Sunshine in tears.
“Sunshine, uh…. What’s wrong?” he asked her. The girl explained about her
nightmare as they walked into his room. “So, you’ve had this problem every
night?” Davis asked her. Sunshine nodded tearfully. “I see.” he whispered.
Davis thought about the situation at hand and came up with an idea. “Hey,
don’t cry. Uhh… I know someone who can help.” said he. “*Sniff* Really?
*Sniff* Who? *Sniff Sniff*” Sunshine asked and sobbed. “A friend.” he answered.
Davis could see the hope in her eyes. “Matter of fact, we’ll go see him
now.” he said brisk fully. With that, Davis turned to Veemon and braked:
“Wake up Veemon! We’re going to Travis’!” “Hell yeah I am! *Yawn* But why?”
said his digimon. “It’s an emergency.” said Davis. Then with that, the
three of them left for Travis’ house with Melody and the girls.
***
“Travis,
we have a problem here!” yelled Davis as he pounded on the door. The immortal
of the dreams and nightmares opened the door. Davis was taken-aback by
the young immortal’s appearance. He was dirty with soot and dust. “Oh,
come in. The others are here and I’ve been working on a new machine.” Travis
explained. Davis relaxed. Then the family walked in. Travis shut the door
behind them.
***
“So what
is this machine or whatever?” ask Melody, who was upset that she was woken
up in the middle of the night for a child. “I have invented the Dream Simulator.”
Travis answered. “It can turn dreams into reality.” The future children’s
eyes widened with delight. “Can we see this machine now?” asked Jimmy.
“No! It’s not ready!” yelled Travis. “Awww!” the children groaned. But
while Travis was talking to the future adults, Sunshine quietly slipped
out of her chair and looked for the Dream Simulator. She tiptoed down the
hall and into the laboratory. Then she walked up closer to it. “Maybe
this machine will help me with my nightmares.” she thought. Then Sunshine
gather up her courage and hit the golden star button. Then she sat down
into the chair and strapped herself down. Only using her powers, Sunshine
tapped into the code and entered in her dreamworld. When she was done,
Sunshine was confronted by the other children. “What are you doing here?”
Jimmy asked. “What are you doing here?” Sunshine asked him. “Uh……..Well……
uh……. We came down here to stop you.” he lied. “No we didn’t.” said Kanmu.
“Yes, we did.” Jimmy barked. “I thought we came down here to use the machine.”
she said. The other children covered her mouth. “Big mouth!” he yelled.
After all of that, the children put in their dreamworlds until they heard
someone yell: “Who’s there?!?” The footsteps grew louder and closer. The
door flew open and there stood Travis and the other adults. The children
became afraid. “What have you done?” asked Travis. Then he looked at the
Dream Simulator. The screen was covered in descriptions of dreamworlds.
“The control panel is really messed up!” he yelled. Then he turned to the
children. But before he could lecture them, Travis started disappearing.
And with that, the kids and parents started to vanish. “What’s happing?!?”
yelled Melody. “You’re all disappearing into the dream worlds. I’ll try
to get you all out!” Travis’s voice echoed as they drifted into a black
hole. Once they made into the dream portal, black hole closed over.
